| I was doing a safe inventory, with two new items inbound, one rather large one, required I do some shuffling. *Some of these do not shoot - as you guys know, but they would be more expensive to replace than many high end assault rifles, nuts I know - just look them up if you doubt me, lol. While some of the German guns were out I thought I'd throw some caps in with them and shoot a pic with my phone. Top to bottom: Heer cap & Luftwaffe cap. K98K Russian Capture 42 with 42 bayonet and 42 sling. G41(m) Mauser 1941 with 41 sling. G43 AC Walther with 43 sling MP44 Walther (on Shoei replica gun receiver) BNZ 42 MP40 on (3d receiver) - Israeli sling. 2X MGC MP40 replicas. AC 44 Walther P38. on left - Shoei FG42 on right - Erma EMP 35 (3d receiver) Incoming are MG42 and Steyr MP34 (see white metal handled bayonet on right) Looking for: Lugers, Waffen marked PPKs, G/K43s, G41s, G33/40. Have a nice one, Pit. | |

| The lower two MP40's in the pic were purchases from the classifieds on this site. They look good, with the real BNZ 42, as a group of Mp40's don't they?

| The MGC MP40's are very similar to the real thing - much lighter, but visually convincing. The MGC UZI, I had, was the most authentic replica I have encountered, extremely similar to the real one.
The MP44 I have, only uses the Shoei upper receiver, the rest is real, so it is very difficult to tell it is non-firing. The FG42 is awesome, but feels nothing like the real one, the weight is all wrongly distributed - but I don't care, it's good in my collection - I actually offered everything I had in the world ($wise, lol) for the real one I found, but no deal. For the German collection: WW2 Luger with capture papers, MP34 and MG42 on their way. Replica-wise: I will likely go for an MP41 - as long as it's metal I am happy, the Denix ones look Ok. If I don't buy a PPSH BFONG (blank fire only non gun) - then I will try to add a Hudson PPSH - I know they are Russian, but like the SVT-38 and 40 they interest me because of their prolific use by the wermacht. Also want to add an artillery Luger with snail drum and shoulder stock, at the prices the real ones sell for this will likely be a metal replica - if anyone has one PM me, let's make a deal, lol.I would also like to add an MGC/RMI "trigger action" PPK with swastika grips to the collection. Everything else I will stick to real articles, as they are still available in the US, thankfully. I need to go to work again, this collecting thing is expensive, lol. have i published any of the Zulu War collection, yet? lol. Pit. BTW - I feel inclined to add, I am in no way inclined towards the political motivations of the Nazi party. I have read and studied them and their genesis for twenty years and have one of the larger libraries on the subject. I find their politics revolting and beliefs despicable. But by not learning about the mistakes of our past, we are, destined to repeat them.

| Some very nice kit there. A friend of mine just sold a live first version FG42 to another RFD for a lot of money | |

| Yes, transferable examples are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars here. The one I found was not in the US and the original owner could not sell it without destroying it - I'm not rich, the most cash I could get together was less than $25K, and I think I may have offered some collectable motorcycles, but, no deal. *PM me if you want more details of this story - they are not the stuff for a public forum.
What does RFD stand for? Pit.

| Sorry, RFD is registered firearms dealer. Practically the only people in the UK who can legally own Section 5 (live full and semi auto, and most pistols) weapons. | |

| A small update - two or three missing - ZB26(t), P38. Thought this might interest a handful - the FG is a Shoei, The MP44 is a real kit built on a Shoei receiver and barrel (I did not do this, acquired this way, lol) - The gray colored MP40 is a Tokyo Toy, all zinc, it weighs more than the real MP40 on top of it. The mags are mostly out, or about to be out as I am giving them an oil bath - I am fuming - this safe is supposed to be damp proof - it has been quite humid here. Found some rust on the steel - had to get out oil and rags for a busy hour or so. FG42 - MG13 - MG34 - MG42 - MP44 - MP40X2 - G43 - G41(m) - Erma EMP - MP34 G41(m) was over engineered and complex, few made it to the field, even fewer made it back. G41(m) Mauser variant of the G41 - beat out by the Walther submission: G41(w) *Mauser followed the mandate to the letter - Walther ignored certain key points, but made a better working rifle, they won the contract. In Darrin Weavers book he has collected in house memorandums from Mauser, they knew they had a flawed rifle. AC44 G43 Walther factory. K43 magazine DWM 1915 all matching Luger with US Army capture papers from in theater - 1945 Happy collecting, Pit. | |
