| Post by Reemo Mark says grease is best, and I would agree. It stays put.
Any good gun grease will work (Mark uses stainless steel high pressure grease with good effect)
I use grease and LOTS of silcone oil on these guns.
Use TRINITY brand RC model "shock oil"....90 weight is best.
It will not damage o-rings or anything else and lasts a long time. _________________ "This is your life......and its ending one minute at a time."

| I bought some lithium based grease from Francky, that used sparingly works well. A light spray or wipe with cotton buds inside the cartridge with WD40 or silicone oil is well worth it too. _________________ Hobby collector of mainly WW2 era uniforms, headgear, field equipment and replica weapons. | |

| Yes Illuminati, my mistake there! I use silicone oil and grease on the 0 ring cartridges, WD40 on the type without rubber, like the MP40 ones

| Post by Mark If you shoot your modelguns grease is the way to go when lubing the cartridge internals, as it cuts down on friction and sometimes the carbon and phosphorus residue. In the Marushin MP40/Uzi cartridges, it helps the cap to slide easier and it actually will cut down on the stress on the threads at the cartridge base and it can help the reliability as the bolt doesn't have to slow down as it doesn't have to fight that extra little bit of friction from a "sticky" piston or cap. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by ricks It seems like there is grease & then there's grease. Scuba-grade silicone spray is recommended by some high-end airgun companies for use on their guns. Will it work? _________________ Rick | |

Well. I would think that since Scuba equipment is very important and not many people are inclined to risk their lives on their equipment being defective. So, I would think that the Scuba grade silicone would be compatible on all synthetic as well as natural rubber compounds. Since I believe that the O-rings that the modelgun manufacturers use are made using Buna synthetic rubber. So, I would guess that would be ok to use in any modelgun cartridge.

| Post by Claymore i used a silicone grease for a while but found that on some rounds it caused the cap to stick to the piston stopping blowback even though i did not put too much on so i have gone back to using 3 in 1 oil applied witha cotton bud to just the piston and have no probs. The silicone was great as it burnt clean and dry it does work but due to at least 2/3 jams a mag i gave up on it. | |
