| Does anyone know if the Denix drum mag fits the real deal, or possibly a MGC Thompson? If so, the Denix drum would be a cost-effective alternative, considering the MGC and Auto-Ordnance availability and pricing... EDIT: learning by doing... I went and bought myself a Denix spare mag, and yes - it goes into place with a satisfying 'click'. Makes a nice display mag.

| Auto ordnance drum mag is very different to the MGC drum mag - I have both. All the Denix mags I have had - have been empty of internals and made of pot metal - but I have not owned a Denix drum. Not a very good answer, sorry - I can photograph the MGC next to the Auto Ordnance if anyone is interested?
Pit.

| So nobody has tried a Denix mag on a MGC Thompson, then? | |

| Hi, Didn't tried to. But, if it can help, reals 50 rounds drums, can fit with MGC Thompson.

| But don't fill it, the spring is really too strong. | |

| Yup - I was wrong - I unearthed the MGC Thompson and tried my Auto Ordnance 50 rounder, and it fit perfectly. Comparing them together they are VERY similar in dimension - the steel used in the real one is heavier gauge though. Pit. | |

| Interesting. So a real mag fits a MGC, and after what I've heard, a Denix Thompson accepts a real drum after some "persuasion" (I have no idea to which extent it has to be persuaded though.) So anyone with access to both a MGC and a Denix Tommy gun, please chime in...
One main issue re: the real Auto-Ordnance/Thompson 50 rd mags is pricing - I've seen them going for $250-$300. There's supposed to exist a 10 rd drum mag, which is a bit cheaper (going for approx. the same price as a MGC drum) - anyone seen/tried one of those? I believe the outer dims are identical to the 50 rd drum. | |
