| Claymore,
Not too bad I think, some metal parts like hammer, grip safety or slide catch is black, not silver though.

| Are they capable of firing pfc caps? Or are they dummy models like other newer Marushin pistols? | |

| These are PFC firing models. But I do not suggest to fire silver model as plated plastic barrel is weaker than regular solid black barrel.

| I understand that. It was the same with the old metal finish models.
Is it new center fire or old side fire system?

| How did you find a PFC firing version of the silver marushin 1911? 2 of the websites I found that sell them have them only in dummy...can you convert one of the dummies into a PFC firing? what parts make the gun a dummy? |

| I believe if you change a barrel, you can fire. Or, to get firing version of entire gun.

If those are the Hong Kong online shops that you've found: since firing caps are illegal in HK so our shops simply referring all the modelguns as dummies (basically a disclaimer avoiding trouble)...

| Ohhhh I get it now! I ended up getting the marushin 1911 in kit from redwolfairsoft.com because its the only one that fires PFC's according to their description! So I thought why the hell would someone spend all that to get a non firing model gun..but they are all firing, it's just that they cannot publicly say that they do on their website right? I was wondering if they like remove the firing pin from these replicas or something... thanks for clarifying that!
Therefore does that mean that all PFC guns that are referred to as "dummy only" on their websites are actually all capable of firing PFC's? no such thing as a dummy PFC gun then... |

To confuse things further, there ARE several modelguns available that are incapable of firing PFC type cap loaded cartridges. For example, Marushin fairly recently released a HWABS Mauser M712, Walther P38 as "Dummy" models. Shoei have made a number of "Dummy" models too. Hartford (HWS) and CAW produce both cap-firing and "Dummy" models. Some websites, certainly the Hong Kong based dealers, describe Modelguns, or anything that is'nt an Airsoft BB firing gun as a Non-Firing Dummy. It's always worth checking with the seller if any models you're interested in are actually capable of firing PFC type cartridges before commiting yourself to ordering.BTW, I couldn't see the photo you posted of WaShan and Marushin .45 cartridges, is it my PC being slow today or has the photo's link not worked here? _________________ Cerwyn

| Basically - HK shops never "deactivate" pfc modelguns: they sell it the way it is...so it's EXTREMELY important to check the spec from Japan beforehand if possible... | |

Try the "Host an Image" icon. You'll need to open a free "account" then away you go.Another great method is to use www.photobucket.com For detailed instructions, click on Search and ask it to find "posting pictures" or "posting photos" _________________ Cerwyn

Could you remind us which cartridge is which please? There's clearly a big difference between these two. _________________ Cerwyn
