| I have a number of these but all new since I just got into my hobby after leaving the forces a few years ago and well after all this VCRA tosh. Subsequently they are all side blast (which I can live with) but not the dumb ass idea from whoever it was to suggest pinning the cylinder so that it cannot be removed which IMHO is essential for proper maintenance and cleaning. These blank firers are expensive and it would be criminal to let one perish due to the lack of ease of cleaning. Does anyone know how to resolve this cleaning problem other than not using them? | |

| Hi JR I use "phillips gun cleaner" a nitro solvent, available from most gun shops. Place the model barrel downwards, and spray liberally inside chambers and on the outside between cylinder and barrel, allow to soak in for 5 mins then wipe off excess and "rinse" with WD40, then wipe all residues away, and polish with soft oily cloth. Not perfect, but as good as you can get with the pinned versions. But do fire them:) its fun:) | |
