Need 9mm Cartridges for Hudson Madsen M50 SMG

Greetings to all,

I'm new, so please be patient with my "green" terms and questions.

I just acquired a very early Hudson M50 Madsen PFC gun. The gentleman who I bought it from gave me 4 9mm brass cartridges. The 9mm cartridges from my other PFC guns will not fit.

Does anyone have these early-model Hudson M50 Madsen 9mm brass cartridges and correct size caps that I could buy? Is there a source that may have them? An Individual? The very knowledgeable gentleman who I bought the Madsen from told me that these are the loudest PFC guns you can get, so I'm really excited about firing this gun soon.

Any help with my problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Francky is the man to see about rounds and caps for this, check out the buy and sell and you will find him to PM him.


The madsen is a great model not sure about it being the loudest however. you might want to the piston inners to mgc ones as if your rounds are the same as mine then they use a used cap as a seal but mgc new sp inners fit and give the gun a better blowback power, Francky should be able to help you with that i would think

Yes, as Claymore said, definately Francky. He is very good and helpful to get you loads of parts and bits and bobs and things. He will normally be pretty helpful with reguards to informing you how to use the parts also if you are unsure, such as how to fit a part, or how to load a cartridge properly. His prices are also very very good.

Hi Kimbo. and welcome to the forums!

I have one of the excellent Hudson Madsens and I enjoy shooting it. However, I don't utilise the original Hudson cartridges (Madsen/Sten MK2) as they aren't a good cartridge design. The later and current production, Hudson Sten cartridges are a far better cartridge to use. Although, they do require a longer "detonator" to work ( the detonator is the steel rod in the chamber) also, the inner "piston" in the Hudson cartridge should be changed to an MGC "CP "piston" for reliability reasons.
