| Good alternative for the Sten ...don't want to spend on a vintage Hudson whatever and I hate Electric Airsofts... | |

| Good to see that Denix continues to evolve their line of affordable models. There is enough differentiation to make various people happy :-) | |

| Judging by those pictures of the stripped down Sten parts, I'd say it would be fairly easy to make it blank firing due to the simple nature of the Sten being as an open bolt slam fire jobbie. | |

Denix use cast zinc of dubious quality for their replicas so I'd think it extremely unlikely (probably dangerous) to consider converting to Blank Firing.Conversion to PFC cap firing could be a possibility though... _________________ Cerwyn

| Depends on the power of the blank. You stick a full power 9x19mm NATO blank in there and it probably wont end well for the firer, but a blank with a reduced load will probably stand a better chance.
One thing to consider is the current stripped down pictures show a breach/barrel assembly that appears to be removable. If the finished Denix Sten is as the pictures show, with a removable breach/barrel assembly then it could fall foul of the Firearms Act. Bore a hole through that part, shove a .22 blank round up there, drop a ball bearing down the newly bored barrel then let the Sten's other parts do the rest due to it's open bolt slam fire system = Section 5.
Remember, a "firearm" doesn't have to be able to withstand a round being fired, merely the ability to fire a round/missile etc. Even a model gun that can do that, depending on the model gun.
Going back to the Denix, I don't think that will be available to the UK for those very reasons. | |

| Great news! I hope the photos are of the actual Sten and not a 'stock photo' though. | |
