Age of MGC 68

I have a MGC 68 that has been in my family since the early 1950's (around 1952?) It look and act real.
but has made in Japan on trigger guard and front of barrel. Serial number is No 1206. Has bakelite pistol grip sides and side cover on receiver and a small piece under barrel. Bolt has a ejector lever and a small (1/4 inch) extrusion coming up from the bottom into the bolt when clear of the mag.
The date of my possession and date in History section don't seem to jive. Can any one help. Is this worth anything?

Hi littlebil and welcome to the forum

MGC 68 MP40 from the 1950's is something far earlier than we are aware of and should be interesting to study.
As far as we know, MGC first started producing the MP40 in about 1967.

this will, hopefully give you some idea if yours is Early or Late version. Comparing yours to photos of members' examples may also help
