Hi Claymore,I'm still in experimental stages but this last test was very similar to the loading method described here:- https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t4582-muzzle-flash-experiments-mgc-sten-mkiii
- Solid Det Pin but the vent holes through the retaining brass ring are as wide as possible
- Japanese Prop Powder used rather than Magnesium
- 2nd cap had the edges cut off rather than having the red charge disc prised away from the plastic body
I will follow up with photos asap _________________ Cerwyn

| It looks like potassium perchlorate (white stuff) and super-fine aluminum powder (dark stuff) in all the videos I've watched on the 'Tube. Those are the most common ingredients used to make flash powder. I'm not sure what their mix is, though. The white stuff could also be barium peroxide... does it smell like eggs after you fire? Did anybody ever post a translation? I've been meaning to do some tests, but have been afraid of damaging my guns. | |

thanks Thanks philb,My MP38 isn't a Blank Firer . It's a Modelgun that fires cap charged, reuseable brass cartridges. The method of firing is quite different to a Blank so a vent hole isn't required. _________________ Cerwyn
