I always thought a real bayonet would fit the MGC M4A1 series, but I never tried it. I just came upon a good mil-tec replica of the M9 bayonet currently in US service. Of course you need the 14,5 inch barrel version, not a short Commando barrel. It fits the MGC M4A1 without any modification. It is a nice, snug fit. It adds some weight too.
