My first real encounter with custom gun cases was when I by coincidence found some plywood leftovers and realized that there was just about what was needed for a box protecting my highly prized Marushin UZI
I took a fast decision, cut up the 6 pieces – went to the workbench, glued and nailed a closed compartment
After drying and sanding I cut it open all the way around, about two thirds from the intended bottom
Hinges and lock was “borrowed from some cheap light wood boxes and the (maybe a little bulky) handle cut from a double layer plywood left over.
AND luckily the case has just room to house the original Marushin cardboard box
And when the cardboard lid is “upside down” the UZI becomes easily accessible
It didn’t take long to make, the hardest was finding hinges and locks.
