Well, it looks like CAW/MULE have started on the promised AK47 again but no date mentioned for possible release, so i would expect many moons away yet. Its another based on the Hudson moulds so lets see if they solve out the damn awful firing problems the Hudson had.

The biggest problem with this one is the cost, reservation cost is 68000 yen around £485 ish and actual sale price 80000 yen around £571 before cost of getting it shipped extra, so damned expensive.
Another thing if like the M1A1 they only produce a batch of rounds and mags on initial release, its going to be a pain as they will sell out real quick and then no more made, i really do not understand the mentality around that, spend a fortune on a model then dont produce rounds for it after initial release!

I would also think that again like the M1A1 orders will need to be done soon or when they confirm progress of the model and release date as they M1A1 sold out real fast and the promised further production runs has never happened.

I am the happy owner of a CAW M1928

It looks good, it feels good and fires well

A CAW AK47 really sounds attractive, thought the price level is rather high

Is there anything about magazine interchangeability ?
And anything about cartridges ??

Nothing on either of those things so god knows. I also have the caw m1a1 and very happy, but no more mags or rounds being made! Not good, so I have no reason to think the AK is going to be any differs.

The M1928, I think, benefit from the interchangeable cartridges (MGC, Hudson and Tanio K)

If they take off from the Hudson tools one could hope the continue with the latest aluminum carts and hopefully also magazine interchangeability.

I will be interesting to seen next update from CAW /Mule
