Just received my lovely new FG42 E-type, (first model) from Shoei -
An absolutely wonderful replica.
Beautifully packaged and mailed efficiently from Tomio in Japan.

Looking over the accessories, the dummy rounds, magazine and manual, noticed, the translator was a Cerwyn Jones - is that our own member mentioned in black and white?

It will go well with the other toys in the FJ collection.
The FG in the second picture was made in 1944 by Krieghoff - through I do have a Shoei 2nd model G-type, too.

How fun!

Yes Pit', I have written several Instruction Manuals in English for Shoei's replicas  Very Happy

The FG42 is a beauty, I wish I could afford one! Thanks for showing us your latest addition.

Tomio's service was second to none, as usual.

The manual is very well translated.

I should have ordered one of their slings, too.

I have a Yugoslavian M53 sling on the original FG42 as the original slings are maniacally expensive.

Tomio is a real pleasure to deal with.
Thank you for letting me know that the translation is well written  Very Happy. I'm glad to know my efforts worked out.
Genuine FG42 slings must be extremely rare. There can't be many that have survived this long.

If you are looking for an original sling, I have one sourced, but it costs more than the replica Shoei FG42 I just bought.
Also beyond the sling latch, which has the same marking as the K98 latch, there are no factory markings or dates, so you have no proof it is an actual Fg 42 sling, or anything other than an original K98 sling with altered parts from a machine-gun sling and or G98 swivels.
