Making modelguns work Empty
PostSubject: Making modelguns work   Making modelguns work Icon_minitimeWed Feb 21, 2018 12:42 pm

Hi all,

I have seven or eight modelguns and only two of them works perfectly : JASG S&W M10 and my Tanaka Glock 17. I have a project to make a short movie in the coming months and I need those modelguns to work. I will update this topic regularly.

I will start with the Hudson AK-47 : it was a second hand I bought last year. I barely used it, just test it with two old but original carts last year. 8ace was able to provide new carts  cheers

Problem 1 : not solved
I can't load 30 rounds. The tension is too high. Carts get stucked. I have noticed that it is deformed a little bit. Or is it normal ? The more carts I load, the more force I have to put to remove a cart from the magazine.

I have also noticed that this deformed part will block the carts when they will be chambered.

I have noticed as welll a gap in the magazine.
Maybe this is normal ?

Problem 2 : solved
When a cart is chambered, it will get stuck inside. Each time I have to dismantle everything and remove it with a pincer. This is definitively not normal.

Edit : I found the origin of the problem. The detonator pin is damaged and creates irregularity that will block the tips of the carts. I have another problem with some of the tips of my custom carts. They will not fit the detonator pin at all but it will be fix thanks to 8ace.

Problem 3 : not solved
Handguard is moving but I don't think it is a bigdeal.

==========

Next modelgun, Marushin S&W M39 : Bought here one or two year ago. It was sold with weird carts but definitively not genuine. Shazhib was able to provide me 15x original PFC.

Problem 1 : solved
Carts always get stucked in the chamber. I have to remove it with a pincer.

Edit : I removed the detonator pin and found out that when you insert it into the top of a cart, it will touch and make friction. So I reduced very slightly the diameter of the detonator pin. Now it will insert more smoothly.

Problem 2 : not solved
Carts will jam when loading. When making a dry cycling without caps, carts will eject most of the time correctly but sometimes it will jam.

Problem 3 : not solved
I have noticed that the cart on top of the magazine is never straight.
It should be parallel with the other carts isn't it ?

Although the mags look similar it might still be causing problems as small difference can mean a working/not working model. So do discount it completely.
