| One of 2 Nakata Mp40's I have, this one is made up of spare parts so is a restoration nearly finished. As you can see the front sight is broke (hard to find another one) and the barrel resting bar needs replacing, though I may be able to rescue this one. I bought the receiver many yrs ago and finally got a barrel to fit (again some yrs back), Good old 8ace made a chamber and improved the bolt and then I ended up putting it away and forgetting about it. That was again yrs ago, finally got round to looking at it again with the intention of re-bluing, but stopped as I think I like the worn look. It fires KSC 9mm rounds which at the time were easy and cheap to get hold of. The mag is a genuine Nakata Mp40 mag but it needs a new mag spring, at the moment it has 2 mag springs in it interlocked (no idea what mag the springs are from) so you cannot compress the spring enough to get more than 15 rounds in. I took one spring out but then it was too weak and would not load a round, so back to 2 for the time being until I have played around with other springs, maybe a vig MP40 spring. It fires fine though which is a relief as I was a bit unsure about the spring and if it still had life in it but seems fine. https://youtu.be/tYP4qAvjyUchttps://youtu.be/tYP4qAvjyUc | |

| Very nice! I vote for leaving the "worn" finish! | |

| From time to time reproduction real steel MP40 sight hoods appear on eBay at reasonable prices, they fit the Nakata with slight screw hole widening on the hood..

| One trick, if it is the top part of the hood that is broken off and the lower part is still present, remove this part and install it where the top part would have been..
