Hi,

Just dropping a note to introduce myself.  I’m a gun collector and recently acquired a MGC MP40 replica.
I’m impressed at the general accuracy of this model compared to others I’ve seen.  It goes well with my real G43 and K98’s.  I believe it is a late model, display only, based on the plugged barrel and lack of striker and cuts. I’ll try and post some pictures below.

Welcome to the club. Looks like you are right. It's a "RMI" later import version for the MP40 by MGC, they are getting harder to find these days without paying $$$$$.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Mp40 bolt looks in good condition, normally these are cut up as well on display models.

A big welcome here from me.

Sadly I can not help with the MGC MP40, but there should be members around here that know this model well.

Hi Stuart, welcome to the Forum.

Barrel removal is straight forward enough. Unscrew the barrel nut all the way, the barrel will lift away from the receiver without any problems.

Hi I can't see a barrel nut, but I have taken a few photos. I also need help on the body as some either screws have come out or bolts.
And I'm looking for side platesNew member introduction. Img_2014New member introduction. Img_2014

Hi Stuart,

The barrel nut is the large nut between the barrel and receiver. Have a look at the MGC68 MP40 Instruction manual here

https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/t76-mgc68-mp40?highlight=mgc+mp40

Check the exploded diagram, the barrel nut is part number 5

Also the first diagrams show the nut being unscrewed with the original MGC spanner but it'll probably be a firm hand tight.

The photos at the start of this thread, first photo,  show the barrel nut in place on the barrel

That's the one. Unscrew that and the whole barrel assembly will pull off the receiver

The second pair of photos you sent show where two, one each side, Allen bolts fit, see part 17 on the exploded diagram.
