I am wondering if a real AR-15 charging handle can be used in Marushin´s M-16 series. The reason why I would like to change it is that the material of the Marushin charging handle is weak and thus gets marks from the charging handle latch easily. Sometimes the small latch even stays inthe backward position because the charging handle is slightly bent.
Greetings
MadMike

| Post by Mark I just tried a charging handle from my AR-15 in my Marushin XM. A real chargung handle might work if the two little "ears" on the charging handles body where machined off. Thes little "ears" are designed to give the charging handle a track to run-in on the upper receiver. The Marushin upper doesn't have this track for the handle to run in nor, does it need one. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by Mark Markus, The charging handles are fairly in-expensive in the U.S. as AR parts are common here but, i am not sure what the parts situation in Europe is so, a charging handle might be expensive..I might have to try using a real charging handle myself _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still) MGC MP40 Marushin MP40 Nakata MP40 TRC MP40 Modelgun manufacturers, past and present:CMC,CAW,Hudson,HWS,LS,MGC(R.I.P. 1960's~2007) Marushin,Marui,Kokusai,Shoei,Tanaka and Western Arms | |

| Post by Madmike Well, I did some research: as AR-15s are really rare here in Germany I will have to pay approx. US-$ 50 for a charging handle. So if I spend that money it should really work out Greetings from Germany Markus | |

| Post by Commando I use a steel charging handle in My MGC M4, it works perfectly. Very solid and smoother action. No fear of breakage. You can get one In germany I'm sure. Mine was £25. I also need to mention that you will need tyo file the little "ears," on the steel ones, but this is easy and can be don in about 5 minutes. But it will be worth it. | |

| Post by Madmike I finally got a US Army surplus M16A2 charging handle. After removing (filing off) the "ears", it fits and works with a MGC M16/M4. But it is much lighter than the MGC charging handle.
It definitly does not work with a Marushin M16A1/XM177E2 as the Marushin handle is shorter and the bolt lacks the gas tube adaptor on top, which the MGC features.

| Post by Mark That's too bad that the real charging handle didn't work for you Markus..I now wish that i had researched the real handles fit in my Marushin before you whent and bought one...Perhaps there is another way to stiffen the original Marushin charging handle.. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)
