I know that the MGC VP70 is a really rare model, especially with the stock, but I am not sure if I get the price on this auction right ...

The seller asked for 2.300.000 JPY until last week or so, now he generously lowered it to 2.250.000 JPY, so it looks like he actually thinks this might be a reasonable price for this set

Peak BIN was 3400000¥ IIRC... or was it 4300000¥?!?
WAY over the top anyway. Seems like a case of „I am trying to sell it, my dear, but no one is bidding... I even lowered the price several times... seems I will have to keep it, luv.“
Or someone who is waiting or the proverbial idiot who is desperately looking for VP70 full set when no other auctions are running.

Only when the items are sold - which apparently is not the case here (as far as I understand - but maybe the item is not re-listed automatically, but each listing is a new one after a successful bid).
But yes, money laundering would be one explanation. Although I would change the article each time not to make the ‚tax man‘ suspicious...

If Yahoo is anything like ebay regarding fees, the seller must have dumped a fortune into posting this sale again and again

On the other hand, he/she also has something cheaper for those who can't afford that VP70: A Marushin P38 for a real bargain price: Only ¥247.000 1.733£ / 1.950€ / 2.366$
Shame, that there's only one, I'd buy two of those for that price...

That is just crazy. Anyway I have to admit that I have not yet seen this ABS P-38 from Marushin in Nickel finish, so it may be rare. The Metal finish P-38 is much more common, I have it as a Military and a Commercial version in my collection.
