I want to say hi to all members of this interesting forum. I'm new to the community but I have a Q ready for you guys:

Does anyone know if it's possible to modify the fixed lever ( the one cast in one piece) on the MG68 Mp40 to a pull/twist working safety one or if a working one from the Marushin kit (for example) can replace the MGC one.

thanks guys for your time and kindness.

Max

welcome to the forums, not sure on this i would say no to the original bolt but if you could get a new bolt made then you could use a marushin safety on that, however the push pull mech of the safety is straight forward as it is only a ball bearing and a spring it depends i think on how long the mgc coking handel is and if you could work it for the plastic safety of the marushin to go over. i will have a look at mine as see if it looks feasable.

Hi Max .

Welcome to the forums !

In answer to your question : Yes it is and basically all you would need to do is machine /grind/sand away your MGC cocking button so it resembled the internal bit the same as Marushins .

You can strip the part that comes from marushin to see exactly what you need or I can make some measurements/photos if you like

only thing to mention and its quite important .

MGC cocking handles have been known to snap off so bear in mind this part should not be over stressed.

Hello Max

Welcome to the forum!

If it's of any help to you, here's a link to Marushins MP40 assembly manual and parts list.

The Cocking handle and Toggle Safety can be ordered as one unit, i.e. part number #33

Thank you all for such warm welcome and all the infos you provided. Once my MGC68 arrives I will have a close up inspection to see if I can manage the mod without taking too many risks about braking or snapping any part.
Here in Italy seems everybody is more into softair games other than reenacting, not to mention modelgun collecting. Thanks to the internet we can reach awesome people like you from all over the modelgun world.
Cheers
Max

Yes, welcome to the forums Sturmann72!

The internet does provide a good way to meet like minded individuals across the world. Sadly though, it doesn't really replace the face to face greetings though!
