I'm going to be selling a model gun soon and I have seen requests for sellers to make them available to everybody (which is OK) but who is responsible for the customs laws of the country it is being shipped to? As some are very different

Well, I would say it is the buyer´s responsibility to check if these modelguns are legal in his country. Also the risk of loss, damage or seizure is his. It is the same with professional sellers worldwide. Buying modelguns or Airsoft guns from abroad is always a gamble, I´d say ...

As madmike says all the risk and responsibilty is down to the buyer and as long as they are aware (or made aware) there should be no come backs on the seller.
