| Post by richard jones Not sure about anybody else here but i like to try to(depending on price)original or as used here"real steel"bits for their various guns like manuals, holsters, magazines, slings, inert ammo, mag pouches, bayonets etc??
I think it adds to the particular gun in question

| Post by Phobus Hi Richard , I usually try to get some real steel parts and bits for my guns but price often prevents me . I spent AGES trying to get some replace handguards for my M 16 A1 , easy in USA but v difficult here . Gave up in the end. I also wanted some replace grips for my COLT .45 auto but fell foul of the modelgun blight ( slightly different size to real steel ) so my IMI Colt has to keep the old ones . Recently I was after a stripper clip / rds to go with my Marushin Mauser full metal M 712 , just so I could see how the REAL rds would look with the model . Maybe they will go into the magwell too ? Don,t see why not unless it is " blighted " I go to the militaria fairs try to get stuff cheap . Regards CARL. _________________ Marmite enthusiast | |

| Post by fightdesigner Yeah, I run into this more with my blank firing guns, since most of them don't have trademarks... so I try to find grips with the proper logos, things like that to help dress 'em up a bit better.
Modelguns, usually it's accessories more than parts. _________________ Freelance hack... and slash, and gun.

| I feel that modelgun without accessories is... well... too "bare". I try to get at least the following: - original holster
- original magazine (for display/photos)
- inert ammo (for display/photos)
Other than that it depends on a particular replica - some have such real parts that can be safely acquired and installed (stocks, sights, grips). One can probably find many more such parts in US than in Europe, thanks to availability of real guns there. As for pure modelgun accessories I try to have a spare mag and as many cartridges as affordable (twice the mag capacity is a good guideline).
