Hi All!
I’m going to order a Marushin MP40 Model Gun Kit from Hong Kong. I reside in California, USA. Here are probably exist people from there.
My question is: According to the California laws, is it legal for me to order a MP40 Model Gun Kit from abroad? Should I expect problems with the customs?
Thank you! | |

Hi evil_kot,
Sorry for my late reply! Welcome to the boards!
Unfortunately, California State laws prohibit the sale or posession of modern (post 1898) firearm replicas! But, as far as federal laws are concerned, you can import these modelguns as long as they have their trademarks removed or obscured and their muzzles painted blaze orange..
If all of the federal laws are complied with, then you shouldn't have a problem with U.S. Customs

If possible, one more favor – are there any US import taxes, or other additional payments when you order from abroad? I’m going to order from HG too. (http://www.dentrinityshop.com)
Thanks a lot! | |

Hello
I just got a mgc thompson and I live in california.
Mine is older and it made it to me without an orange tip.
my package was inspected and resealed. Te seller was kind enough to put a notice in the box that explained what it was.
There are vendors in ca. that sell model guns both the mgs tommy and the mp40. you shouldn't have any problems buying one. I don't think there is such a law as a model gun fall in the same classification as an airsoft gun and there are tons of those here too.
it just needs an orange tip and no trademarks to get in the country.
