| Post by figaro Have any of you web hounds seen for sale or (even better) have for sale gold colored metal replica long arms, I've seen the pistols, gold colored per Japanese law, these would be great but I need a longarm for this particular application. Feel free to PM me if you have one for sale, or post pictures as I'm sure it would be of interest to all on the site. Not interested in real guns, I can get those (Krinkov semi pistols are $1900 in gold plate), they are just too expensive for what I need. Cannot have UK deacts here for legal reasons, seen those for sale too, on Milweb. Because the reciever is still intact, in the US they are considered firearms, gutted, blocked and welded or not. Looking for metal Replica longarms gold colored, preferably metal material. Ak, UZI or AR would be excellent. I know, I know but I make films about eccentric characters, it's not for my personal collection. It's a run of the show prop so I don't want to rent it, it will work out cheaper to buy, I think. Keep up the good work, this is a fun site to browse. JJ. _________________ www.thebutcher-movie.com | |

| Post by 8ace The only gun (other than a pistol) i have seen that is gold coloured is a UK deact sold by these guys http://www.helstongunsmiths.com/shop/deacguns.html but as you say that UK deacts are not possible i think you might have a problem as most people spend a lot of time trying to REMOVE the gold coatings rather than putting it on. Might need to get the spray can out | |

Yes. The all zinc modelguns (handguns only) sold in Japan must by law be either painted or gold plated before they can be sold. Marushin regularly produces several gold plated modelguns (Mauser M712, 3~4 versions of the Luger etc) Over the years, MGC has made special editions of the Thompson and one BondShop custom was gold plated and stamped with correct Colt markings!

Well, I think you should be able to gold plate or coat a metal modelgun (zinc, zinc alloy) if you have the proper material and hardware. I know a few guys being active with car tuning, and they do that not only to wheels/rims, but to cast alloy motor parts as well. But I donĀ“t understand enough about this chemical process to be helpful in any way. _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over."

| Post by figaro I will contact Franky, see if he has any of the Thompsons mentioned, ideally would prefer a more modern model (Uzi, AK or Ar). (Plating a replica with 24 carat gold would be foolishly expensive.) If anyone see's anything, not deacts, as mentioned they are verboten, unless they're already in the US of course. Feel free to PM me. (Does not have to cycle caps cartridges.) Thanks chaps. _________________ www.thebutcher-movie.com | |
