| Post by Phobus Fantastic collection Jim , You must have a VERY understanding Wife / Girlfriend ? I especially like the AK on the right in first pic ( airsoft ? - looks like the Dboys ACM ? as sold by RSOV ? ) WANT ONE . Also the 5 : 7 ( also airsoft ? ) and the Desert eagle , and is that a Marushin shotgun that fires the new high power slugs ? Very nice and another one on my wants list . Here in the UK we regularly get stories about collections like yours being raided by the Police . GUN NUT HAS DEADLY ARMOURY OF AUTOMATIC WEAPONS each are READILY CONVERTIBLE to fire live rounds , and the police thanks the public for helping to find this deadly haul . NEVER NEVER do you find an apology saying : The guns were later found to be harmless toys , and the owner was allowed to KEEP his collection . The guns ALL go to the crusher , and the owner is fortunate not to go likewise . My house has guns falling out of cupboards in nearly every room !! Right now there is a COLT M4 behind the TV , a sniper rifle in the airing cupboard with a pump up air rifle for company ( for the rats ) my main collection is in the spare room mostly in the original boxes but also an Ingram ( silenced ) in the clothes cupboard with various pistols . The wife says she does not see them anymore and is kind of oblivious to them but we have had one or two interesting experiences with unplanned guests !!!! I will have to get the camera out on my day off and take some pics - it would be an interesting experience just to get them all out together and see how many I have Thanks for the pics Jim , they are brilliant !! Regards CARL. _________________ Marmite enthusiast | |

| Post by Jim Phobus , Unfortunately guns and gals just don't mix together - I think I've to buy a bigger house with extra room (or another house) when I find my another half - I've to lock it up as well otherwise when we messed up I'm afraid my guns will be the first to sacrifice... I think you're talking about the AKS-74U - this is a VFC made by the Taiwanese instead of the China-made D-Boys (the Chinese only cost 1/3 of the Taiwanese...) The Chinese-made AEGs are currently flooding HK's toy gun market (and I reckon things are similar in the West as well)...but for modelguns, although sounded unpatriotic, but I feel that the Chinese manufacturers just not sophisticated enough to make modelguns for the market (well then again, modelguns just can't make profit...). The M870s are made by Tanaka instead of MKK - and I believe that sooner or later Tanaka will release the M870 modelgun after they made the molds for airsoft...if they can do it for the Trenchgun then why not for the M870? Then again - I hoped Tanaka release a modelgun SIG P229 after the 226 but it never happen... Fortunately (or unfortunately) in HK - real steels have been prohibited from the mainstream society for so long that when people see guns they'll tend to regard it as toys so we haven't (yet) encounter all the emotional knee-jerk reaction currently carrying on in the Western societies... | |

| Post by MadMike That is very impressing! You must run out of space in your house for sure soon. Although there are some forum members here who have found very nice and understanding women who accept and support their modelgun hobby I too think that (model)guns and girls don't fit too well. Anyway I decided to stick to the modelguns, they won't put you down. Here are a few of my "babies", MGC HW CP M4A1/M16A2 series (top to bottom: M733 M16A2 Commando, M933 M4A1 Commando, M4A1 Carbine, M4A1 R.I.S.): _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. | Post by shazhib Wow,
Jim, you've got such a treasure in your house. Must have a good understanding companion.
I saw lot of guys in Yahoo auction here offering his collection saying "for several reasons, I need to sort out my collection....." I know there guys got strong "no" from his family or girl friend.
Next time I have a business trip to HK, would like to visit your place or at least have a chat out side somewhere.
cheers,
S | |

| Post by Jim Markus, I'm already run out of space - as you can see I've to put some in the sofa in the living room - when visitors come I've to move them to my bed and lock my room (from time to time). For the M4/M16 (an other guns as well) - I'm quite conservative so I prefer stock guns instead of custom guns (therefore the M933 and the R.I.S. are not my cup of tea) - but as I mentioned before, I got the M733 and the M4A1 and happy about it. Shazhib, I still "live" with my family in HK (basically one day a week - I'm usually in China Mon-Sat) so at the time of writing I'm in my China office. Sunday is basically the only day that I'll be in HK (not always - sometimes I've to work on Sunday as well such as tomorrow ) - so check your schedule... | |

| Post by Jim Damn...I thought I hide it so well that nobody will notice it... Anyway this is a BB-proof vest only cost around GBP 25 from one of the toy gun shops here...just don't walk around wearing this (at least I won't - although it look totally different from the real one) unless you get bored with your life... As for the collection, compared with some of the maniacs in Japan I'm still far far behind... | |
