| Post by Jim Hi Guys,
Although extremely difficult but I'm now looking for a NIB steel MGC MP40...and somehow noticing the custom-built MP38 from Model Gun Collector.
Anyone encounter one of these please kindly advise me of their quality or anything related to it...please PM me if your comment is not suitable for public viewing...

| I have one of MGCUK's steel STENs and it is a superb model gun. There are reviews on the forum which go into great detail about that particular model.
If the MP38 is anything like the STEN it should be superb. If it wasn't so horribly expensive I'd have seriously considered buying the pfc version myself.

| Post by Jim Welcome to this forum v2cun ! Since I got my MGC MP40 (the Japanese version with the barrel blocked though) late last year so I lost the urge to get MGCUK MP38 (actually because I'm not as rich as I wish)...still I cannot wait for your comment on these UK-made modelguns! But...MGCUK stopped updating their site since mid-September last year so I thought the VCR Bill ruined their business...I'm still not too sure if they can make these guns legally (finger-crossed)... For cerwyn who owned the steel Sten...lucky you! Jim | |

| Yes indeed it's good to see v2cun back again I would consider MGCUK's steel STEN probably the best modelgun I own, so yes, I am pretty lucky I managed to get one I'd be interested to know how many were actually produced. I'm sure there's a thread on here about the MP38... doesn't it use several of Marushins' MP40 metal components with the rest then made in steel? | Post by MadMike I am quite sure MGCUK is still in business. I asked about their MP38 modelgun and they told me it will still be produced, but due to the VCRA their customers now are mainly reenactors who prefer the blank firing MP38 version though, so the development of the modelgun version is a little delayed. _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. | Post by Jim Well then...who know the differences between the blank-firing version and the pfc version - I assume there'll be a choke/restrictor inside the bore of the blank version (just like the modified real steels uses in the movies) and a detonator in front of the bore for striking the cap on the pfc version...
Since these guns are made from steel (don't know what sort of steel will be used - the "strong ones" used on real steel or the "weaker" ones used on the Taiwanese made electric guns) - can the reloadable brass cartridges withstand the hardness & the force? | |
