| Post by Spencerman Here are a few pics that I took of my real P99 compared next to a Maruzen Gas Blowback version to show just how close to the real thing this particular model is. Just in case that you give up, the real gun is the lower of the two, and the BB gun is the one at the uppermost of each picture. | Post by Spencerman This time the real one is the one on the .... Unloaded (above) and Loaded (below) ...the real one is the one on the left, the BB gun is the one on the right. Probably most noticeable from the front (you can see the inner barrel for the bb shot) and the magazine (you can see the gas valve). Other than these minor differences, as you can see the detail is fantastic. There is a faint trademark licence thing engraved on the front right hand side of the slide on the bb version, and it says made in Japan instead of made in Germany. I am not sure if this next picture is clear enough to show this. | |

| Post by Spencerman The real one is deactivated. These are (at the moment) legal in the UK to own without licence. Here is the blank version thrown in at the bottom of this next picture. The real one is in the middle and the bb gun is still at the uppermost. As you can see, the blank firer does differ slightly from the other two, it is not 100% accurate like the BB version, but still nice. (again, as per the live fire version, the blank version can be legally owned in the UK if it is deactivated). And the last pic, just for fun really... | |

| Post by INTERCEPTOR That's amazing, they look so much like each other!
In the 1st pic, I thought the real one was the uppermost, seems like the replica has a few more details than the real one (the grip looks a bit more detailed on the replica and the barrel has things written on it, or is it me?) _________________ It was in the middle of a dark night, I was standing in the middle of the scene. | Post by Spencerman The barrel does indeed have all the same markings as the real thing, even the serial numbers on the barrel, slide and frame. Unfortunately my camera isnt great, and I couldnt get the real markings to show up too clearly without distorting the whole image. The other thing that I cannot show is the weight and feel. The BB gun again is almost identical to the real thing. You can even change the grip at the back to make it for smaller/larger hands just like the real gun. | |

| Post by Spencerman The BB gun is made by Maruzen. You can even get metal slides for it (but I have not). It is a shame that they do not do a modelgun version, as the detail and realism of this particular gun is better than any other that I have seen (and it shoots!!! (ok only BBs, but they can still be fun)). | |

| Post by Spencerman I said that they are legal to own in the UK if they are deactivated. Most gun shops that can import and deactivate guns themselves can get one for you (these are nearly always gun shops that used to sell live handguns in the past). They can also thread the barrel to take a dummy silencer if you ask nicely. The nearest proper gun shop to me as far as I know is Worthing Guns, and I have seen adverts for them in gun mart before. He has had deactivated blank P99s in the past. I also forgot this picture. Again the bb version is the uppermost and the real one is the lower. | |
