Hey guys,

Anybody know where I can get a scope mount for de-ac 98K? I know there are couple on Ebay but they will cost me at least 100 quid!!!! K98 Scope Mount ... Icon_evil I dont need the "historical piece". A reproduction works just fine with me. Cheers.

Thx a lot. But I heard some thing about those mount base for airsoft will require complicated modification. I really dont want to drill a hole or something like that on my de-ac. K98 Scope Mount ... Icon_sad I did find another one: http://www.modelguns.co.uk/mauser98k.htm Anyone ever tried this mount? Or maybe this one: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=TW-SC-ZF4198K_srch_zf But it says TANAKA 98K only... K98 Scope Mount ... Icon_cry

Donatle.

have you got the mounting plinth on your K98 then ?

is it the one that fits to the rear sight ramp or the one that welds to the rear sight band ??

Thx doc. I dont hv the mounting plinth on my 98K. ZF41 seems to be the "authentic" scope mount. But I dont know if it requires modification coz I dont have a lot tools with me at the moment.

Donatle.

well the mounting plinth on your K98 is going to be the hardest bit.
There is one type of plinth that is affixed to a special rear sight guide and this can be fitted to any K98 in about 5 mins...the trouble is even repro ones of these sell for £150 plus and its a tiny part.
option 2 is the complete rear sight band type but as far as I know there are no repros of these and originals will cost you £150 plus and your original one would have to be removed with heat (as well as the front sight)

last option is to get someone with a CNC to machine a plinth that you can weld/solder onto your existing rear sight band...the hard bit is finding someone willing to machine you one as theres a good few hours work there.

The ZF41 mount cannot be fitted to any K98 unless the plinth is there first so I`d get that sorted as job No 1.

perhaps a mod could move this to the firearms section as it doesnt really relate to the CMC K98 as it would be nigh impossible to fit the ZF41 mount to that as the rear sight parts differ.

Thx for the bad news K98 Scope Mount ... Icon_sad Dont think i can find anybody who will do one plinth for me on the CNC machine. But maybe i can make 100 and sell the rest 99. hahah
Anyway that means I cant convert my 98K to a sniper version. K98 Scope Mount ... Icon_sad

Mod please move this topic to the firearm section. Maybe it can help others with the same problem.
