Francky,

Nice pictures! (as always!) 1 year ago, i had a perfect MGC MP40 (late version) just like the one in your pictures. It's box was flawless and it too had the "purple" colored receiver and gold colored trigger.

The interesting thing was, that the magazine housing had perfect bluing although the receiver was purple..It looked strange and i almost refinished it as i did not like the purple finish. But, i didn't as i wanted to keep it original but, it looked funny to me so i decided to sell it for $750 as i had two other MGC MP40's at the time.

I noticed that your MP40 has the exposed recoil spring assy instead of the two piece tube enclosed small recoil spring assy. I think that the latest (last) production MGC MP40's received the large recoil spring, the two-piece magazine housing etc.

I really want to get a copy of that manual from you if possible as i have never seen one except for one on a Japanese web-site (for sale?) I don't see the barrel nut wrench that MGC included with the MP40 (for cleaning) I would love to have one of those too!

It's too bad that the MGC MP40 will never be made again!

Hi Francky, nice images as ever.

I have the Barrel spanner ( wrench) with mine

I have a question :

I have another MGC tool , it looks like a flat piece of steel with a small bent section at the end, It sort of looks like what we call a shoe horn in the UK.
It is stamped "68 and has the MGC crest however the confusing part is that it has a fake waffenampt ( like a German eagle) the same as the MGC MP40 magazines.

is this an MP40 tool, if so whats it for ?

I`m sure somewhere I have seen a photo of this tool with the MGC M31 shotgun.

BTW if anyone in the UK is thinking of getting one of these don`t buy a UK version as the bolt face is cut off and the breech is drilled out.
UK ones cannot fire PFCs

Best get one from a UK dealer or the USA or Francky`s homeland .

HI mark,
thanks for watching the review, this model is funny like you told, the
color of receiver and housing isn' the same, and recil spring assey are exposed. and "スタンダード” (means "standard" )sticker on the box.
Believe or not ,this model didn't have detonator . i guess this model is as same as the export model, what do you say mark?
i lost barrel nut wrench!

Actually, all of the "export" MGC MP40's after a certain year (or month?) have the cut bolt face,drilled/milled breach and lack the detonators. I have had many MGC MP40's over the last few years and they are all diferent. Some have the cut bolt faces some don't some have the drilled/milled breach others don't some even have the barrel fully plugged/with a hole drilled in them too...
I think that the bolts where cut by MGC just for the export market not for the Japanese only market...
I too wonder what the described tool is because i have yet to see one myself...
