I've heard that the sun never shines in the UK, so I'm guessing they aren't holidaying there!

Speaking of holiday, we have system called "substitute" or "in lieu" holiday here in Japan.
If a national holiday collides with Sunday, then, very next Monday become a holiday automatically.

Do you have this in your country? I've been wondering for so long.

In Poland you get a day off if national holiday is on Saturday.
Those days are not automaticaly next Monday, but they are selected by the company and announced for all employees at the beginning of the year. It is typical that such day is used for 24 December or as a "bridge" day on Friday/Monday when another national holiday falls on Thursday/Tuesday.

Shazhib, no, we do not have that system here in Germany. If a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, that is just bad luck. Hope you are doing fine mate.

Man, I just realised that I am far too seldom around here lately ...

Regarding days in lieu of holidays, here in the UK it works on the principle of 'If it benefits someone then it doesn't happen'.

I'm going into hospital for a couple of weeks guys, so I'll see you all when I get back

If, by any chance, one of you finds a Hudson AK47 anywhere while I'm away, sit on it till I get back would you I want one
