About to acquire an all metal Nakata MP40 and right out of the gate, I know it is missing a magazine and of course, the cartridges. In need of some spare magazine and any info or leads as to where I can find some PFC that would work. I doubt I am going to keep this as I want a Thompson but after I play with it, may change my mind! Any info would be awesome!
thanks

A real sten mag fits perfect in the nakata as for rounds best to look at using KSC 9mm and francky shazib in Japan or PFCGUK here in teh UK can help with those, unfortunatly the caps are going to be your biggest problem as they can no longer be shipped by air from japan so we all have a problem with that. 1 other thing is the det pin in the chamber many nakata's dont have a pin so they cant fire straight off instead they have a plug in the chamber this plug can be removed by knocking out the pin in the trunnion (the bit the barrel nut screws onto) then you need to put a det pin in many people us the plastic chamber and det pin from a marushin mp40 its a little small so needs a bit of tape wrapped around so its a snug fit or if you are lucky you can get a custom steel chamber made also the barrel needs a bit of drilling to open it up to allow it to front vent.

Thanks for the reply! A real sten mag is easily obtainable here in the states so that is awesome. But it is looking more and more like a resell item so I can get a Thompson or Grease Gun. Sure wish I could have fired it.

It could be worth contacting two of our USA resident members as they both deal in spare parts and older modelguns,

try ljerr2 and kharris either by PMessaging or e-mail. If they can help I'm sure they will

what a nice guy. Pretty much convinced me that I have a very nice paperweight. Since being in the states, getting caps is pretty much like pulling hens teeth, also what claymore stated. Since I will put it with the display items, no harm in tearing into the thing to see if I can really screw it up! Hmmm, how to modify it???
