This is well off-topic but.........
It's been just a bit over a week since a massive earthquake struck Christchurch - the second largest city in NZ; for NZ with a comparatively small population (4.5 million) the effects on the whole country has been heart-wrenching.
(Details here:

NZ has received massive support with urban search & rescue teams from many overseas countries including the USA, Japan, China, Australia, the UK and several other countries. The support and help has been awesome and extremely professional - but with a sensitive human face. (Much like this forum, but at a higher level!)
Some of the members here may know some of the people who have come here; and I just wanted to express gratitude and thanks to the international community and a personal acknowledgment to anyone here's friends or colleagues that some of you MAY know.
Sadly, among the dead are many overseas students and visitors - likewise if anyone here has a connection with a victim, I also want to express my condolences and ask that you pass it on to those concerned.
Modelguns may tie us in this Forum together in a common interest: and I have found it to be a supportive and helpful international environment. I think of it as a mirror for what's going on in Christchurch at present - expertise shared with lots of goodwill and professionalism!
And it is likewise valued and appreciated.
