Hmmm, that sounds like a MGC custom shop version of the earlier Thompson these are rare as they didn't produce many of them back in the 1970's as i think that they where too expensive to produce..Does it have the two recessed cap screws in the receiver's top? If so, then you definately have an older custom shop MGC made Thompson...
