Yeah, that certainly is a very interesting gun.
In my opinion, the gun is too expensive, though. 1560 USD is VERY steep, you can get a Socom Gear M107 shellejector for the same price, which is quite a bit "more gun per $" Wink (Ok, the M107 seems to have some issues, Socom Gear tries to get rid off at the moment - might be wise to wait for them to change a few parts before buying one of these)

Also, the shape of the pistolgrip of the XR25 differs a bit from its realsteel counterpart, as the CO2 cartridge sits in there. This means, that you won't be able to exchange the grip for a realsteel or aftermarket grip.
Here's a longer review of the gun Smile

Thanks pydracor

$1560 US !!!! Mad

I did not see that in the smallprint Surprised

I have been watching out for a GBB SR -25 or similar .

Don,t like the CO2 in the grip assumed a bulk system in butt maybe ? Prefer gas in the shells if at all possible - like my APS CAM mod 870 shotty - so you can have an ultra real weapon - customisable with RS parts .

Have been seeing more and more modern weapon shell ejectors lately though - very positive for the future .

Modelguns seem to have died a death nowadays don,t they ?

Yep, there certainly were quite a few shellejecting airsofts released recently, though most of them still seem to be for a rather small portion of customers.
The APS CAM seems to be a pleasant excemption, this thing certainly has pretty broad success - I'm pretty mad, that this gun probably won't be legally released here in Germany Evil or Very Mad

If you want a shellejecting airsoft with CO2 in the shells, check the MadBull / Socom Gear M107.
For the same price Rare Arms charges for their XR25 you get an 11 kg sniper-rifle beast with huge shells, that take the CO2 directly into an internal tank and which are ejected semi-automatically, too.
Shooting power is shockingly low, but guns like the M107 or the XR25 are not meant for players anyway.

As I said above, though, the cartridges of the M107 still seem to have "teething troubles"...

"Modelguns seem to have died a death nowadays don,t they "

Well it depends what sort of model guns you into...
With the end of MGC and Hudson we saw guns like m4's AK's stens and the like come to an end..
BUT
More pistols than ever (apart from the MGC "golden years") are now available..
More western guns than ever....
CAW are doing a good job on the Hudson molds and some old MGC molds with new models coming back on the market, e.g Madmax, greasegun, soon the M1A1 Thompson SmileSmileSmile
There is a lot of good news !!
I think I am correct in saying japan changed law a while back to increase the age at which you can by some airsoft guns to 18, this cut a huge market for the Japan makers (bearing in mind that china airsoft is hurting the Japan market as well )
BUT you can buy modelguns from the age of 7, so there are a lot of youth wanting replicas and now only able to buy modelgun so.......... a big potential market !!

Another isue is that we (talking obout us oldies LOL ) were around at the dawn of airsoft and got / get VERY excited when the new airsofts come along. Now as a regular airsoft player i meet a lot of younger players who were born INTO the era of airsoft and in truth just as they do not get excited about MP3 or CD players, Or Video, or more than 3 channels on the tele (God I am old) they are bored to tears with most airsoft, its just not new to them, sure they like the new releases, but they want something different to "play" with.

PlugFireCapGunsUK have been running 5 years now and year on year the business grows Very Happy busiest year yet Very Happy (OK never gona be rich for sure, but the best job I ever had !!)
So maybe things not too bad cheers

Thanks John

Sorry I meant no disrespect in saying :

"  Modelguns seem to have died a death nowadays don,t they ?  "

I love modelguns better than any other replicas without exception .

Its just we do not see many ( any ? ) modern designs do we ? The most recent assault rifle I have seen is the abs M4A1 altho I know there is exotica like TK M4s out there . Not for everyone the exclusivity and expense which these are .

What about smgs ? No MP5 ? Really ?  probably the one gun which changed it all when it came out and instantly made all other SMG designs consigned to the history books .

Handguns  ? (   a personal favourite ..... )  what is the most recent modern design available to us ?

One or two modern ish 45 acp derivatives maybe ? USP - abs Crying or Very sad too fragile - Glock 17 - not so modern now .

Its just that airsoft , by comparison is alive with new and exciting models .

I have always believed that airsoft - has no limits - it hurts to admit it too .

But if you look at what is out there in terms of MODERN full metal / shell ejecting / gas blowback .

More and more replicas coming out which even copy real steel materials now - at a price .

I hope modelguns have a similar upturn as regards new models etc but it seems our beloved hobby is only for oldies like me who wants a Sten or a Tommy .

Carl.

No worries Carl Smile no offence taken at all Very Happy

Obivously airsoft is big, I play myself its fun!!
and yes lots of new models.

Yes there is a lack of new modern designs modelgun wise, I dream of an MP5 PFC Smile
(never say never Twisted Evil ) after all Jay is doing the M134 Vulcan...

Your correct that more modern PFC guns are needed for sure, but the old stuff is still doing well Smile

If plans work out, the future may see some new designs but its a way off yet Cool sunny

hellishly expensive, to much for me as i was looking at this as a possible purchase. I would think there is a market as many do buy shoei models and they are expensive (shoei probably better built though). If the co2 was put directly into the round i think it would fall fowl of the law here in the UK, the new Barrett co2 shell ejector has co2 directly in the cartridge and i am sure that is illegal over here.
CAW doing a M1A1 johnnyv that sounds very interesting, any more info?

Hi Claymore

I know what you are thinking as regards the gas in round situation .

They already exist in uk with the goblin paintball " shotgun " and the more recent APS CAM M870 gas shotgun (  CO2 straight into the round )  these are generally available in UK dealers now - zero one .

The power does not compare with Brocock air cartridges - if that is what you were thinking about ?

Strange how the Brocock cartridges themselves are still legal to own and charging gear ?? what a bizarre anomally ??

The other gas in round airsofts are finding there way into UK and are discussed openly on forums there : ( see zero in )

cheers

Carl

Phobus, yes that was what i was thinking, Brocock. self contained air cartridge still worries me though as far as falling fowl of the law, as UK law on guns never ever seems to be out of the grey area. i agree with you about the Brocock rounds still being Ok, bloody strange but also demonstrates my opinion of UK gun law being very grey and i just get this feeling that any round you charge with air or co2 regardless of power will come to notice and problems will occur, more's the pity.
