Has anyone ever seen a model or replica Webley Fosbery revolver?
I know they probably don't exsist, but perhaps someone from Japan or Hong Kong has run into one.
I've been looking for a real one for about fifteen years, and have only seen two at gun shows (a .38 and a .455) both in the tens of thousands of dollars.

figaro,

I think only British revolver modelgunized in a past is, Enfield. Looks similar, but this is not something you are looking for right?

No, I have seen those, they are about $300 for a really nice one in RS.
No, the Fosbery Webley was a first world war era experiment.
It used the recoil of the cartridge to actually move back the barrel section of the revolver cycling the cynlinder as it travelled through notches and zig zag grooves on the cynlinder and re-cocking itself, effectively an automatic-revolver.
They were high end and finished beautifully usually with jewled screw heads and deep bluing, some Officers bought them but the grooves would block with very little dirt and your revolver stopped working.
In the movie "Zardos" Sean Connery uses one, you can see him loading it by hand in some shots.
In the "Maltese Falcon" Bogart's partner is shot with one, and Bogart remarks on the rarity of the revolver.
Oh well, if anyone anywhere encounters one as replica plastic or metal model gun, let me know.
Thanks,
JJ
