These replacement pistons sound interesting, good find 8ace !

Altec in the UK are a good source of 7mm o-rings too
I had posted part numbers for them on here ages ago after following up on somebody else's link.
I can't find the post again but I'll dig out the part numbers and order references for you.

Hmmmm there seems to be a lot of choices on material types, has anyone tried anything other than the Nitrile ones (which arent recommended for high temps anyway) 7mm 0-Rings Icon_question

I might give those silicon ones a try, nice bright orange rings, pimp up my cartridges 7mm 0-Rings Icon_lol

The Nitrile O rings I bought from Altec have proven perfectly suitable so far. It'd be interesting to see if the silicone ones need less grease for lubrication though. It'd be one job less to worry about when loading up!

Part numbers are:

7mm Nitrile Part No: ORN - BS006 Stock Items in packs of 50

5mm Nitrile Lot No: 134 - 8883 Special Orders in packs of 100 (unless they've decided to stock these too now.

The 7mm rings were very inexpensive lasttime I bought them, far less than the 25pence each being charged elsewhere. I can't remember exactly how much they were now, about 5pence each I think.

As the 5mm ones weren't stock items they were more expensive.

Give these a try, see what you think 7mm 0-Rings Icon_biggrin

I have tried the silicone O-rings 7mm 0-Rings Icon_biggrin

The bad news is that while they work, they do have a tendency to come off the piston. I don’t know if it is the size (slightly different to the normal ones) or it is the material but they damage easier.

The problem is that you can get the normal O-rings but you can't get silicone ones in the exact same size, which makes a comparison difficult

If anybody would like 47 silicone O-rings to try let me know and I’ll ship them out.
