| Glad to see someone has the new HW 40, does it feel heavy and solid? the ABS version was/is an excellent modelgun and fires great very reliable but i think everyone thinks the HW version may fall to peices so we would all be interested to know if its pretty solid. The ABS version makes a good noise on full auto, not the loudest model in the world but certainly not quiet, have you loaded the caps correctly, i doubt it would fire if you had not but its a possibility also maybe the chamber is a bit different than the old one so muffles the sound, cant really think of any good reason it would not make a good sound. | |

As for weight its slightly lighter than a real mp40 and apart from the wobbly upper reciever its not bad at all.

| welcome to the forums karlotter68, I know that zinc is good at absorbing sound but i dont know if there is enough mixed in to the plastic to make any differance . 8ace | |

| Welcome to the forums karlotter, great to see new members joining up and especially so coming in with a HW Marushin MP40! As Claymore says the abs Marushin MP40 isn't really quiet although nowhere near as loud as blank firers for example. Do you have other pfc guns to compare noise levels too? The videos tend to sound much quieter than the actual firing noise levels. Does the HW version have a vented detonator chamber and open barrel? Which caps are you using? Marushin, MG or "Real Flame"? _________________ Cerwyn

thanks Karl Hi Karl, That is a strange one. I've also got the abs MP40 and use Marushin and MG caps depending on what I've got at the time. My MP40 was the first modelgun I bought and I bought it off Jay at modelguns.co.uk about 3 years ago. He sold it as a "tuned and modified" gun and whilst I can honestly say it's been ultra reliable and never let me down, the only modification I can see is the vent holes in the detonator chamber have been opened up slightly. Having heard other abs MP40s firing I'm not totally convinced this mod' made it any louder really. Assuming the gun fires properly and blows back to give controlable burst and Auto firing your caps must be fresh, dry and in good nick. Which cartridges does the HW version use? Are they the same as the abs one or is there a newer design for it? Again I'm assuming your cartridges are new so poor gas seal shouldn't be a problem? the vents on my detonator chamber are knowhere near as big and the cartridges are brand new, maybe im expecting too much but it is alot quieter than the abs ones, ill try and post a video of it firing soon, ps just bought a original mp40 magazine for it, never jams at all now as the original magazine looks a tiny bit longer so the cartridge seems to sit slightly higher than the marushin one, cheers karl
