Hmm.
Sadly, unless you bought the gun brand new from MGC with that serial number on it that, and the box had an BondShop sticker on it, I would doubt that it is a BondShop item.
The BondShop produced Thompson's typically had complete Colt markings on them with patent dates etc. and, they are really rare today. In fact, I have yet to see one advertised for sale anywhere!
I can tell you this, If I had one of the special BondShop produced Thompson's I doubt that I would shoot it! _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by ljerr2 A while back I posted some pics of a friend's 06/06 MGC Tommy gun. It appears to be special because it has the 1417 serial number instead of the normal one that everyone seems to have on the 06/06 models. He and I are both still puzzled about this. The finish is exceptional on his, however he has been told (on this forum) that it is not likely a bond shop item. Were there any limited edition or limited production runs that may have had unique serial numbers like this one? | |

| Post by Mark ljerr2,
It's hard to say if the serial numbers ever changed during the later years of the MGC Thompson. That being said, there is a slight chance that an MGC employee might have "personalized" a few of the Thompson's that he had assembled or, there might have been a repair to the receiver die in the serial number area that forced a change....In the early days of MGC their BondShop would of course customize many of MGC's models for a fee. The BondShop Thompson was especially well done and looked very realistic with the proper patent dates and markings on the receiver. I don't (or, I haven't seen any) know of any special runs of the MGC Thompson's other than the last of the production run models that seem to be far better finished compared to the earlier runs. So, is your friends MGC unique? It's hard to say as so much about MGC isn't easily discovered.. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Post by ljerr2 The owner is beginning to think the 1417 represents the number of MGC 06/06 Limited Edition Chicago Thompsons produced, and this actually modelgun was meant for Paul Chu, the owner of RedWolf Airsoft. He feels it was accidentally sold to him, as it was the last one purchased from Redwolf Airsoft before their supply was exhausted, and he did buy their last one – right after his purchase, the ‘OUT OF STOCK’ notice came on, and you could no longer click on the checkout. He asked Francky about the production number, and Francky doesn’t feel MGC produced that many, but considering all the dealers worldwide, and the modelgun’s popularity, the modelgun’s owner thinks it is conceivable that they produced that many. He cannot get any answer from RedWolf Airsoft regarding this. Any input? | |
