Next up review. Very Happy
CAW's SCHOFIELD REVOLVER
(pictured below)

Specs
Length: 32 cms / 12 1/2" (muzzle to butt)
Barrel: 18 cm / 7" (full length / open)
Weight: 670g (approx)
Materials: Heavyweight abs & zinc alloys
Grip: wood

Comments
CAW have a reputation with me .... and that reputation is WOW ! Very Happy ..... they didnt dissapoint me with the MP18 ..... and they've not dissapointed me with the Schofeild. Very Happy
the quality of this modelgun is .... like the MP18... Astounding !
an inceredibly stylish revolver.....a comfortable grip and reassuring weight ....and a fantastic action Very Happy
It also comes with 12 rounds that can be used..or for display as they actually have the "lead ball" part .this screws off and allows the cart to be loaded for firing but more on this in a moment Very Happy

Loading
Loading the Schofiled is pretty standard to all revolvers except the way the cylinder is loaded. In the way same as the Enfield MK2 the cylinder is accessed by releasing the catch in front of the hammer to operate the ‘swing open’ barrel & cylinder so it appears as though your gun is snapped in 2
now on to those fabulous carts Very Happy to all intents and purposes these look like live rounds Very Happy ..... and the size of these things .... jeeze .at close range this would take you head clean of your shoulders ! Shocked Very Happy .
The "lead ball" however unscrews from the cart allowing you to insert a 7mm cap face up. you then load up six of these into the cylinder..... snap it closed and your done. Smile

Firing
Pull back the hammer .. do it slowly Wink ........ savour that slow click of the cylinder turning as you cock the hammer .... now pull the trigger Very Happy
Be warned this isnt a bang ..... this is a BOOM ! Very Happy ..this thing is rediculously loud ...... i mean WOW ! Laughing .... i thought the wall was going to cave in when i pulled the trigger ....... WOW ! .......thats all i can say ! Very Happy

Cleaning
Ok now cleaning ..... we're back to the 2 methods …. The quick way and the thorough way !
The Quick way.
Release the catch to "snap" the barrel …. remove the catch above the cylinder by removing the 2 screws .....Take the cylinder out …. And clean it ! …Simple Very Happy !
The thorough way.
This involves you doing the above step anyway ! Very Happy .then remove the screw attaching the barrel to the handle.
a single screw lets you remove the grip .... and 2 screws allow you to remove the plate which houses the hammer & trigger mechanism.
the hammer / trigger although fiddly (as all stiping down of the mechanisms are) isnt that complex as the schofield is a simple weapon Very Happy
But... remeber .... as you remove the hammer & trigger its important (if not refering to instructions) to make note of how the parts of the hammer & trigger fit together !
Next, clean and oil the gun using whatever cleaning solution / oil you prefer. (personally i would recommend marks cleaning technique of hot water, baking soda & vinegar)
Then once we are cleaned and oiled .... put it all back together Very Happy

Over all
what can i say! Very Happy a fantasic looking.....top quality ..... brilliant revolver Very Happy ..if you havnt got one ....... and you like revolvers...then get one ! ..... you've got to Very Happy ...... CAW are in my opinion right at the top of the tree when it comes to superbly maufactured modelguns .... and this my freinds is suberb Very Happy ......... top marks here 10/10 Very Happy

Craft Apple Works line of modelguns might be small, but they sure put a lot of effort into their offerings! The Schofield is another of their old west line and the Colt 1851 looks great too! Nice review again Gary CAW's Schofield Revolver Icon_biggrin

Reviewer expressed very high opinion about CAW's Schofield. But shazhib today wrote me this: pivot pin are is very fragile, do not suggest to do break top action so often. I would like to believe Mr. Garyforce that this model is perfect... because I really want one. But shazhib's remark worries me. Any info/thoughts on this?
The other - bigger - problem that I have is that it seems I can't find this Schofield anywhere... If anyone can help, please...

CAW makes only very short series of their models, 100 or 200 pieces. They are quite quickly bought out by collectors and seem to rarely appear for resale. Repeated production does not happen often, if at all.

I almost bought Schofield when it was released (in 2006), but I was not aware that it is not continuous production. When I tried to find it a bit later, it was not available... Price was not bad either, only about 260$ - not much for such a modelgun :-/
