I was going to buy the MGCUK custom STEN (thanks to Cerwyn, Claymore and my old work mate for supplying me with cash) but they stopped making the STEN. As they now have the MP38 to work on New Hudson M1A1 Thompson (8ace's Review) Icon_sad

So I decided to get a Thompson.......

But which one........

MGC????

Or

Hudson?????

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

MGC. Very reliable, cheap and you can have drum or stick mag

Or

Hudson. More realistic and it is a M1A1

And after much research I decided on the Hudson Thompson

And what can I say!!!!!!!!!!!!

This gun is fantastic New Hudson M1A1 Thompson (8ace's Review) Icon_biggrin

I can't comment on the MGC Thompson as I have never seen one BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the Hudson Thompson IS FANTASTIC (check the woodwork out) and the metal feels like steel

I know it's sad but I'm typing this with one hand while holding her (the Thompson) in the other hand New Hudson M1A1 Thompson (8ace's Review) Icon_biggrin

I will hopefully post some vids of her firing soon (but only when I have removed all the breakable things out of shell range)

I'm glad for you and I'm also glad that the THompson made its way into the home of a model gun collector New Hudson M1A1 Thompson (8ace's Review) Icon_wink
Hudson Thompson's are very cool....I don't own one but a guy I know does. When comparing the finish of the new MGC to the new Hudson ones, I can say Hudson beats MGC by far.....the new MGC ones have somewhat of a purple shine....but when it comes to firing you cannot beat the MGC for reliability out of the box.
I hope your Hudosn M1a1 functions well, let us know after you fire it!
Cheers
Thomas

Got to agree the qaulity of the hudson is tops and it looks a feels great, have you fired it yet though?
If you look at the other articles on this model you will see its not the best firer out of the box, now i dont want to dampen your enthusiam mate and i hope you have already fired it and it performed well but mine did not out of the box but after a lot of playing around and advise from this forum i am nearly there with it.
Be warned it has a very high rate of fire when it works, you can add weight to the bolt which will reduce the rate of fire and i think that is a sensible thing to do, also check the det pin as it comes loose very easily and causes jams and the mags themselves can be a problem as the lips are weak so if you get feed problems check the lips on the mag.

Anyway glad you are pleased with the thompson it is a great looking model and i hope that it fires well first time.
