| Not sure if this the correct place, so I'll leave it to the Moderators to decide where to put it I'm looking for display stands to hold pistols, SMG's on shelving. I've seen acrylic / plastic pistol stands but they're all decaled up with different logo's. ( No point if it doesn't match the pistol!) Has anyone seen, or can make even, clear plastic / arylic display stands please? Thanks All Cerwyn _________________ Hobby collector of mainly WW2 era uniforms, headgear, field equipment and replica weapons. | |

| Post by Claymore I have the guns digest book for 2006 and there are loads of stands for pistols etc, i asked Jay to see if he could get hold of any but so far he has not said he can. So there are plenty in Japan just a matter of getting them over here. I need some myself they have stands that will display several rifles/machine guns which is what i need, they are probably easy to make but as i only made 4 square legs in 2 yrs in school (at Eirias high you will know that place cerwyn) i dont think i am the one to make them | |

| 4 legs makes you a Crafstman in that case! Do you think it could be worth combining an order for stands between us? Shipping could be split saving us a few quid? Where could I get hold of a copy of that Gun Digest please so I can see what's on offer? I mentioned it to Jay too and he said he's thinking about getting some at some point. Cheers mate Cerwyn _________________ Hobby collector of mainly WW2 era uniforms, headgear, field equipment and replica weapons. | |

| Post by Spencerman I would suggest that you try a gun shop. That may sound a little silly, but I shall explain. Not the type of gun shop that sells air pistols and bb guns. Not the type that sells knives and camping gear and a few blank firers. The kind of gun shop that sells guns. Real guns. Now, I know that scince the soppy handgun ban, there are not any new gun shops that sell handguns, but there are a few that used to, and there are still a few licenced to sell them abroad (like Bisley). There are many who now sell deactivated guns (like Worthing Guns near me, which used to be a gun shop). These shops have years of experience at displaying handguns and using various gun stands, and should be able to get you some very easily. Failing that, have you tried dropping the suppliers of the trademarked stands an email asking if they can supply the stands untrademarked. I think that budget guns and tackle used to at one point, so it may be worth looking them up. Alternatively, have a go at making one yourself, they are fairly simple, and it doesnt need to be clear perspex. Also, it may be worth calling your local plastic shop (check the yellow pages) and asking them. _________________ | |

| Thank you Spencerman, the nearest gunshop to me is, unfortunately, inaccessible to me as I use a wheelchair for getting about. They're few and far between around here but yes, I agree with you that e-mailing or whatever could get answers. I tried Budget Guns and Tackle, all their catalogued stuff had brand names on them and they never did reply to my requests about plain ones. I've considered making some, unfortunately I'm restricted considerably with the ability to make stuff ( hence wheelchair etc but that's another story!). Your suggestion about a Plastic's shop is a good one, there's plenty of them making windows and doors so heat folding acrylic shouldn't be beyond them. Thanks very much for your suggestion, I'll certainly follow that up,

| Post by Mark Didn't John post links to places that had plastic pistol stands for sale some time ago? Perhaps, he might post them again _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still)

| Thanks Guys! The clear plastic stands offered by DenTrinity are just what I am looking for to display my pistols. I'm sure I could get someone to make deeper ones to hold SMG's (MP40 with long mag's e.g.) if I showed them the pistol ones. Very grateful for your help once again!
