| Post by richard jones I had the misfortune to buy some of the wood replicas that RELICS do when they firsst started out-TOTAL CRAP.No idea what they are like now but they were terrible then!!!!!!! I have just sold a deact SLR and have a full set of ORIGINAL SLR PLASTIC FURNITURE for sale if anyone is interested.Anyone with any knowledge of woodworking could turn out a better replica than theirs for a fraction of the cost i would think.BEWARE as some of the pics they used on their website were or proper guns not their replicas. | |

Gavin im not trying to persuade people not to deal with this particular company-their products may well have improved over time and they do have some rare unique replicas its just from my personal experience that the items i bought definately were not worth the money i paid for them.I suppose it depends on what you expect from them detail wise etc.

| Post by gavin your probably right though they do have a few rare replicas that you could not get any where else but i think most colectors wuold prefer somthing that can fire or strip and in my exeperiance companys that sell poor quality good dont change | |

I suppose for say long distance film work or for maybe mounting on a vehicle they are no problem at all but as you say it is always nice to have something you can fire or strip down etc.The SLR i just sold was a new spec mostly welded up version but it was still a real one and wouldnt snap or break if dropped, could remove mag atec and fit bayonet.Granted more expensive than a relics replica but well worth the extra money.
Why pay £178 for a K98 or £138 for a Lee Enfield wood replica when you can probably get a deact for the same money? All metal replicas i understand as they are sometimes a lot cheaper than the real thing but these nasty wood things i just cant understand im afraid.
Again purely my opinion and not a slur on Relics as a company.
