| What mods did you have to do to get the mag base to fit. Would a factory mag base fit the blank magazine?

| Nope, at least not with the model I was trying out.
Started out by making a metal U shaped bracket that covered for the fact that the factory mag appears to be a bit wider. Thought I could get away with that and drilling another hole for the spring plate in the bottom. Unfortunately, while that got the mag plate to fit on the bottom of the mag just fine, the lips of the mag well and the new mag plate it each other before the catch engaged; in other words, it stuck up too much, so the mag couldn't go all the way in. Gave up, ground it down and just glued it to the blank firing mag plate.
So... it's possible that latter problem wouldn't be an issue with the factory mag plate, but the first one (width and placement of hole) would. | |
