Hello all,

I carry on to learn and I wonder if someone knows how dye grip.
Look this photo :

and this one :

You can see the difference between the kit and the other. The grip for the kit is more white and I want to know if I can dye the grip to obtain the same colour than the other? If yes, with which product?? I think I don't paint with brown colour because I will loose the "wood effect" of the grip.

If someone could help me, it will be nice Smile

Wink

Bonjour!

I'm not clear if your grip is wood or plastic??? Question

If it is plastic and you want to make it look darker without loosing the "wood grain" look, then one way is to apply a dark brown paint "wash".

A "wash" is a paint that has been thinned down (with paint thinner) so that the ratio of paint to thinner is only about 2% paint (or even less). You can apply the "wash", and let it dry; then if it is not dark enough you can apply another "wash"; and repeat the process until it is the dark colour you want. Exclamation

It must dry thoroughly between "washes". Check on the internet for "paint wash for models" for more information about applying "wash".

If the grip is actually wood, then the wood stain mentioned before is the way to go. study

Kagero's excellent Step by Step Guide should be very helpful also as this explains how to achieve Wood grain and colour effect using paint...

OK thanks to all !!

And it's plastic grip so I have to find your paint wash and especially, I must find a good translate to find it in French.

I must dye several plastic grips so I have to find a good solution.

Thanks again and you will see the result Wink
