Fine Folks of Forum,

How do you strip a Marushin P38?

I did the usual - pull back slide, flip takedown lever to its forward position, release slide...
...but slide/barrel assembly does not move forward. Even taking out takedown lever
does not help at all.

What am I missing here?

pull the slide back a little further .... at the front lower corner of the slide you will see a small steel pin that runs through the frame ...push this out and the barrel/block will slide out

Thanks Doc - that solved my issue :-)

Of course just a moment later I've managed to shoot out two return springs from the slide and had to chase them around the room. It was almost as fun as looking for spent cartridges ;-)

PS: just got this Marushin P38 found locally, will add a review later (May).

Great DOC,

That's what I was to suggest, but you picked up quicker than I did.
So, it seems this is short-recoil version of P38.
