| Subject: ID: metal Luger P08, only marking is "JAPAN"? Thu Feb 18, 2010 12:59 am | |
| Folks,
I am trying to identify a Luger P08 model. It is metal, with a blocked barrel. There is no marking, except for a single word "JAPAN" stamped on the right side of the toggle lock, just in front of the round knee.
As far as I know CMC, MGC, Nakata and Marushin released Luger P08 models, but they all have many additional markings stamped in various places.
Any hints? | |

| Sounds like the RMI lugers I have at home. I will check them and come back........... | |

| Now it makes sense! RMI doesn't seem to have trademarks on models they were selling outside of Japan. I suppose this P08 was originally an MGC or Marushin one, but made for export and sold under RMI brand. | |

| I am just looking at mine at home now, and it definitely sounds like the RMI. The only other bit of writing is "SAFE" when it's in the safe position. | |
