MGC MP40 value??? Empty

Hello everyone,

I am new to this board and I thought it would be the best place to find out what sort of value my MGC MP40 has??

I have had it since it was new and got it for my birthday in 1973. Over the years I added a few original WW2 parts to it. A sling, pistol grip panels, mag loader and 3 mags. It also has a pair of repro mag pouches and 3 Sten gun mags that I use as pouch fillers. It is very good condition and the metal has turned a bronze/brown color over the years and nothing is broken or damaged. It does have the original grip panels and mag it originaly came with. So thats a total of 6 extra mags...1 it came with and 3 original WW2 mags and 3 Sten Gun mags. If I was to end up selling it...It would also come with a repro leather "Y" harness from At The Front. I may also sell it with an original WW2 German M42 shell w/59-60 liner and a original Herr cammo cloth cover. It was re-lined in Norway or Poland post War...no dents and has been repainted sometime in it's past...but with the cammo cover on, it looks great.

Hope someone can shed some light on this,

Rule of thumb is ...... " its worth what you can sell it for "

Its a little difficult to put a value on it with the extras like mags etc as many people would only want the MGC MP40 and the mags/pouches /helmet wont be of any value ( to them )

Lets work of the basic gun

questions that affect value

1) is the bolt face cut off at 45%
2) is it one with the enclosed recoil assembly
3) has the front end lower part of the receiver been cut/drilled
4) do you intend to sell it in your home country ( I believe there are restrictions in place regarding the changing of ownership) or overseas ?
5) some photos will help

bottom value Id say is £200 to £300 for any MGC MP40 but you can double this depending on the answers above

( I once got one only a couple of years ago for £80 Very Happy )
