| There's a story for blank firers in Hong Kong: back in the 80s when Hong Kong was still a British colony, there wasn't clear written law regarding these guns (the same for modelguns - basically as long as no cap/blank used then the gun itself is legal to own)...but the gun shops selling these guns tend to play safe so they regulated themselves by blocking the bore and shortened the firing pin. Then around early 90s, the Police started to realise that these guns could be easily converted so there came the outright ban, but those already sold before couldn't be traced back so up until today these guns still turn up in toy gun shops as pre-owned items from time to time and this shot were taken last night (now as soon as these guns kept in low profile then it shouldn't attract police's attention). Not that I can't afford this - but I just don't think it's worth that much (HKD $3800)...therefore I appreciate more info regarding this blank-firing revolver made by Mauser from all gentlemen here Extremely similar to Colt DS...only the barrel's squarish... | |

| Jim, I have one! Typical UK "version" up venting and blocked barrel, in 9mm. It's boxed with a cleaning rod, and although badged as a Mauser, the box has Umarex on it and is a licensed copy. Other than that I have no history, sorry! Mine does have a date stamp of 83 on the RHS frame. Andy | |

| Thanks Andy very nice of you ...that extremely over-priced one that I encountered seems to be a front-venter (i.e. German version - barrel isn't ported)... | |
