The MGC Thompson M1921 is closer to the M1928 when fitted with a horizontal foregrip and stick magazine. The real M1921 and 1928 were used by the Law Enforcement agencies and the American public primarily.
During the early War years (1939-43/44) M1928 Thompsons were supplied to Britain and its' Allies as we Brits didn't have a rapid fire sub machine gun to compete with Germany's MP28 /MP34 / MP38 and MP40 (amongst others)
Hudson's M1A1 is an excellent model of the late wartime production Thompson intended purely for Military use.
The M1A1 has a fixed stock, the expensive Lyman adjustable rear sight replaced by very simple iron sight, no barrel cooling fins, the receiver will not accept drum magazines, bolt charging handle protrudes from right side of receiver rather than the top and they also removed the Cutts compensator
It's probably true to say that MGC make a better firing PFC modelgun out of the box but the Hudson can be modified and tuned to fire well.
