| Interesting! Though if I understand the terminology correctly, heavyweight means "not metal", right? Would love to have a Marushin quality metal dummy P38... | |

| Interesting...
"Dummy cartridge" means a dummy modelgun, or cap-firing but only listed as dummy due to HongKong law?
PS: correct, HW is Heavy Weight plastic, not metal.

| well i had committed myself to buying no more modelguns as i have more than enough and considering rounds are getting harder to get for a lot of models it makes you unsure of spending more money on a new model, however marushin are still making rounds and guns and i like the p38 so if this is a firing model and not just dummy round i may have to invest in one as it should fire very well with the new type of round marushin do for there 92's. | |

| True, Marushin catridge design is pretty reliable and their previous ABS model is fun to use. HW should be a bit more realistic and, I hope, just as strong material. | |

| I`ve known of a few breakages of the HW P38s ...mainly the barrel section can split and the guide rails on the barrel section can break ... although saying that this HW black may be better than the HW gunmetal type...plus you can always order a new barrel at point of sale.

PS: correct, HW is Heavy Weight plastic, not metal. Basically all the firing version modelguns sold in HK have full firing functions BUT if we get our hands on the caps then we'll be in deep...off the record - a couple of shops still sell caps in the way as if they're selling cocaine ... Or put it in this way - in certain Western nations (namely New Zealand/Finland, etc) collectors can somehow buy live machine guns strictly for their collection (just don't fire with those guns unless they are twisted)...similar ideology goes for our laws regarding modelguns. Back to this P38 - similar to the earlier Colt .25 & Browning M1910 these guns were designed with the old firing system so if Marushin wants to convert it as firing version they've to alter their molds (especially the internals)...or this is their usual practice - releasing dummies first and then the firing version so somebody will buy both therefore boosting sales... I'll definitely go for the Commercial version ...

| Well I was already expecting this delay. I hope it will be released in the end. Any information if this model will be a dummy version only? | |

| Yes - Dummy version only...they just used the old molds with the old Marushin firing system only now they welded the firing pin and blocked the bore more for these new P38...don't know why this time it takes so long (maybe more defects on the molds were discovered)... | |

| Okay, thank you. I will stick with my old Marushin ABS metal finish P38 then. | |
