Post by Garyforce Hey hey gang
……. Did you miss me …… well im back now ……… and here next up for review is ….
THE MARUSHIN BROWNING M1910
(pictures below)
Specs Lenght: 15.1cms / 7 15/16" (muzzle to butt)
Barrel: 8.9 cm / 3 1/2" (open)
Weight: 315g (approx)
Materials: Heavyweight abs & zinc alloy
Grip: Plastic (not to sure if wood grips are available)
Comments a deceptive model gun this 1 ! …. When I first got it I thought……..”god…that’s small” ……its smaller than the colt 32acp in fact ……but it has a comfortable grip and weight to it and appears to be a pretty sturdy gun
Loading Ok……first and foremost you need to release the magazine which you do by pushing the catch backwards at the bottom of the butt ….. which as those of you who have read my previous reviews know……..i don’t like ! :?
Next prime your carts ….. slightly different from other carts as you unscrew the bottom and load your 5mm cap there.
After you’ve primed 8 carts into the magazine, insert the magazine and pull the slide back and release to here that nice “shlick” sound ….. you are now ready to rock and roll
Firing well…..you’ve chambered a round……so pull the trigger
…. You can unload the 1910 in about 3-5 seconds …….. obviously depending on how fast you pull the trigger
As with my other “back firing” model guns (meaning the ones were the caps are back to front) this is loud !…… I mean damn loud !
Cleaning well first pull the slide back then lock the slide in place with the safety catch. Next with a small screw driver turn the end of the barrel (the bit with the notches) anti clockwise. This will allow you to remove the springs.
Once the barrel and slide is off …….. remove the grip and after removing some pins you can take out the hammer and trigger mechanisms
They are pretty straight forward ……. Though with a smaller gun a tad fiddley……..so……if you are removing parts WITHOUT a manual to guide you please be sure to make not of which bit goes were as putting things back together can be tricky !
Next, clean and oil the gun using whatever cleaning solution / oil you prefer. (personally i would recommend marks cleaning technique of hot water, baking soda & vinegar)
Then once we are cleaned and oiled .... put it all back together ....and your done
!
Over all Like I said originally the size of this is deceptive………..this is a fantastic model gun ……. Nicely balanced. ….. fires well (as well as my MGC 1911 anyway) all round a fantastic pistol if you can get hold of one.
I am however only giving this a 9 out of ten simply because it has the magazine release catch that I don’t like !
